Education . Dr. Rao received his medical degree from the Texas Tech University of Health Sciences Center. He initially started his residency training at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess with the intention of becoming a surgeon. After two years of surgery training focused in Vascular Surgery, he switched to Interventional Radiology after realizing the field provides the most minimally invasive alternatives to surgery.
